Tucked away in northern Wisconsin between the beautiful Flambeau Recreation Area and the Jump River, Hawkins is the gateway to the Flambeau River State Forest. Hawkins is centered in one of the most scenic areas of Wisconsin with a multitude of recreational areas nearby.
As you walk along the trails of the Hawkins Mill Pond Park you can see otters at play in the water, ducks and geese swimming in the pond, and you may even see deer walking along the banks. You can also fish for bass, trout, and bluegills, swim, or just sit and have a family picnic.

The Hawkins Lions Club Park accommodates twenty campers or RVs with water and electric hook up at several sites. Take advantage of the volleyball court, baseball diamond, and horseshoe pits while the kids are entertained on the slides and swings.

Activities include fair rides, fast-pitch tournament, , Lions Club bingo, volleyball, horseshoes, parade, live music with dancing, ATV Mud-run and much more!

Hawkins is home to one of the largest employers in the county, Jeld-Wen, Hawkins Window Division, which when running at full capacity, employs about 700 people in the surrounding area.

The new state of the art PreK-6 Elementary School was built in 2003 to replace the old grade school. Unfortunately it is now closed. The Hawkins Area Library was also built in 2003. Students of all ages now attend Ladysmith Schools, or are open enrolled in the Flambeau School District. Bussing to Flambeau Schools is provided by..The Friends of the Hawkins Area School District

The 60-acre Hawkins Industrial Park is ideally situated for new business. It is located along a major transportation route (Hwy 8) and is supported by a full line of utilities which will include three-phase electricity in the near future.
